The Israeli Palestinian Conflict, By Benjamin Netanyahu

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict can be seen from different perspectives, one of them being from the Likud party in the Israeli government. In particular, there are stances that Likud takes on the conflict. Right now, Benjamin Netanyahu is the Israeli Prime Minister, and his current approach to dealing with the conflict differs from the approach taken in 2009. The Likud party is considered hardliner and right-winged, meaning that it is harder to compromise with this political party due to their strict stances and beliefs. Therefore, their diplomatic approach towards the conflict is less compromising in comparison to the Zionist Union. Netanyahu’s stance on how to resolve the conflict differs from what it used to be in 2009: â€Å"The international uproar started when Netanyahu said a Palestinian state would not happen during his tenure if he won re-election to a fourth term, which widely sounded like a departure from his previously stated support for a two-state solution† (politifact.com). Contradictory to his previous thoughts in 2009, Netanyahu no longer sees a two-state solution as a realistic option any more. Someone cannot simply move Israeli citizens over night from their settlements for a number of reasons.
